Bharatha Natyam❤️

 ....Bharata Natyam....

👉❤️Bharata Natyam is an Indian classical dance form originating from the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. This popular South Indian dance is a temple dance and is making a comeback in the twentieth century. Bharata is a combination of ancient dance forms. Many people accept that the word Bharata refers to the sage Bharata, who wrote the famous Natya Shastra. Some people believe that Bharata means gesture, Ratha means Raga and Bharata means Tala.

Adaus form the basic dance movements of Bharatanatyam. Any classical dance form depends on the Adavus of that dance form. In Bharatnatyam, Adaus is a very important element and must be learned very thoroughly. It involves the basic combination of movement of different parts of the body which is done according to 'Tala'. It is the main component of learning Indian dance forms.

👉What are Bharatanatyam Adavs?

Adavus is the orientation of various steps in a dance form as follows:

In position - movement of legs and feet

Mandalas - Dancer's standing posture

Charis - It's body movements Hastas or Mudras- i.e. hand gestures.

😍Adaus has a combination of importance in Angasuddha which means correct body posture and Talasuddha which means proper rhythm for dance movements.

There is a marked difference in the rhythm of Tandava dance and the slow dance form of Bharatanatyam, which involves a beautiful representation of the dance, which the dancer has to absorb. This beautiful dance movement is called Lasya.

👉Among the Bharatnatyam adavas these two types of adavas are taught first.

01.That Adaw...

This consists of eight steps and includes the words “thiyaa thai”. It is also alternatively known as 'Thai Thai Tham'.

02.Nat Adaw...

It also includes eight steps and is indicated by the words Theiyum Tattha and the words “Thaiyum”. Both hands and feet are handled here.

In this way, a brief description of Bharata Natyam can be given.
