In the various Sinhalese caste generations in different provinces of Sri Lanka, dances, songs, Shantikarma bali thovil and yati related to those folk traditions have been going on since ancient times. Einu has also followed other traditions from the days of the king in the upper country, lower country and Sabaragamuwa. Even more branching castes have continued to tradition and innovate over generations. Although there are 32 lowlands, some part of it has been lost at the present time.
It is said that most of the lowland vannams were composed during the Dambadeni period. The main percussion instrument here is the lowland drum or yak drum.
In this tradition, the subject seed is the health of the people of the lower country, as well as the protection of the environment, animals and the fruits of crops. Lower Country Shanthikarma is divided into 03 basic parts. that is,
01. For God's sake - Madhu Shanti Karma
02. Sooniyam and Sanni - Riddiyagama or Riddiyaga
03. For the Planets - Bali Shanti Karma
Madhu Shanti Karma is special among these Shanti Karmas. That is, to be for God. By this, God performs this Shanti Karma for happiness and seeking help and this is a Shanti Karma done for fertility.
